Jenelle Evans insinuated that her return to Teen Mom 2 would "save the show" in a new TikTok three years after being fired from MTV. Viewers first met Jenelle when she starred in 16 And Pregnant season 2 back in 2010. After giving birth to son Jace, now 12, the North Carolinian signed over custody to her mother, Barbara. Since then, Jenelle's chaotic personal life has been well-documented. From multiple arrests and arguments with ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith to meeting and marrying David Eason, Jenelle has become one of the most controversial figures of the Teen Mom franchise.
In 2018, David was fired from Teen Mom 2 after posting several homophobic tweets on Twitter. Although family, friends and fans alike warned Jenelle that David was not good for her, she continued to stick by her man. Jenelle was eventually fired from Teen Mom 2 herself in 2019 after David shot and killed her dog, Nugget. Although she has not been involved with the network since, fans recently began speculating that Jenelle could get her job back after MTV filmed a party she was at hosted by Briana DeJesus. The «lawsuit party,» which was also attended by Jade Cline, was meant to celebrate Kailyn Lowry's court case against Briana being dismissed.

Shortly after the U.S. Sun reported on May 27 that Jenelle and Barbara were in talks to return to Teen Mom 2, Jenelle uploaded a TikTok insinuating that her return would ultimately benefit MTV. «The Ashley reached out to MTV who confirmed they have zero plans to hire you back,» a TikTok user previously commented.
