It says something about the quality of a franchise if fans are still making content based on your game more than two decades later. Case in point, one Reddit user recreated the Power Cell and Precursor Orb from the Jak & Daxter series.
"As a fan of the videogames I decided to design and 3D print the Precursor Orb and Power Cell," wrote Reddit user PrivatePolygon. Both models are made with plastic resin which were then painted in "different metallic paints and transparent washes." The net effect is both a shiny metallic and ancient artifact that seems otherworldly.

For those who never played the games (and given their age, that could be a lot of you), the Power Cell was the main collectible of the first game, Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. You needed a bunch of them to fully upgrade the heat shield, create the levitation machine, and you needed almost all 101 to unlock the secret ending. Precursor Orbs, meanwhile, were the main currency that were used to unlock the Power Cells in the first game, but later entries into the series made Power Cells into a collectible item used to unlock secrets.
Fans have definitely latched on to the 3D-printed models as a rallying cry for Naughty Dog to make a new game. It seems unlikely, but Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann did say that the studio has "multiple game projects" underway. One of those could very well be Jak 4.
