It looks like Capcom Arcade Stadium is getting a sequel, according to a new rating on the official South Korean game classification website.
A new entry on the site today is titled “Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium”, while another has the name “Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium Bundle #1”.
Both entries have the description: “A PC game that features various retro arcade games from the ’80s and ’90s developed by Capcom as a collection.”
Both have also been given a 15+ age rating, compared to the 12+ age rating given to the first Capcom Arcade Stadium in South Korea.
According to the website, the higher rating is for “exposure of female characters’ bodies” and “body mutilation, amputation etc. appearing in fighting games”.
The original Capcom Arcade Stadium was released on Switch in February 2021, before coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC a few months later.
The collection consists of 32 retro arcade games from Capcom’s history and spans 17 years, from 1984’s Vulgus to 2001’s Progear.
Powered by the RE Engine, the game sets its menu in a virtual arcade, letting players pan across the cabinets before deciding which one to play.
The initial game is a free download and comes with 1943: The Battle of Midway free. Players can then buy three separate packs, each containing 10 games, with Ghosts ‘n Goblins available as a bonus game.
At the time, Capcom stated that Capcom Arcade Stadium’s 32-game library would be expanded in the future, but this hasn’t happened yet.
It’s not clear whether Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium will be an expansion to the original game, or whether it’s a completely standalone release with new DLC titles, meaning players won’t be able to build on their current collection.
