iPhone 15 has already entered production! Even though Apple struggles to maintain the demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max launched last September, the company is already preparing for its next iPhone launch that is expected to happen in September 2023. The iPhone 15 series is expected to have the same four model lineup as the iPhone 14 but there will be more upgrades. And the preparation for that has already begun.
Based on a new report from Chinese website Money, it is said that the iPhone 15 trial production run has already started. No, this does not mean that Apple has finalised the iPhone 15 for the market yet. Apple's contract manufacturer Foxconn has initiated the New Product Introduction process which allows Apple to figure out how the production would go once the iPhone 15 is ready for the market.
Other than the NPI process in China, Apple is also working to reduce the manufacturing gap to India. Apple usually delays its iPhone production in India by a couple of months but the company plans to reduce this gap in order to improve its supply chain system. The iPhone 14 production began in India two months after it was initiated in China. Although the company saw greater demand for the iPhone 14 Pro, India continues to be a major supplier of iPhone 14 to the local market and global markets.
With the iPhone 15, things could be different. Rumours suggest that the iPhone 15 series will introduce bigger upgrades over the 2022 models. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will ditch the display notch in favour of the Dynamic Island, although the OLED displays could still refresh at 60Hz. These models could also get the newer A16 Bionic chip and a new 48MP camera sensor for the main rear camera.
