The iPhone 14 leaks have painted a shocking revelation! For the first time in many years, Apple could be launching a brand new iPhone that does NOT have the latest chipset! Based on the leaks from some renowned tipsters, we now have an idea that the iPhone 13 could be sharing its A15 Bionic chip with the iPhone 14 for this year. That means there is no real performance upgrade for someone coming from the iPhone 13, and this, it defeats the purpose of moving to a brand new iPhone, especially when the entire series is likely to see a price bump of $100 across the range.
Here’s what the leaks say in brief — the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will make do with the 5nm A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13. At the same time, Apple is likely to come up with a mildly updated A16 Bionic chip based on the 4nm process that will be used in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. In theory, this will make the iPhone 14 Pro series vastly more powerful than the vanilla models. Does that mean it would be safe to stay way from the iPhone 14 this year and for the years to come? We don’t think so.

The iPhone 13 has been around for over 7 months in the market and despite its “old” 5nm manufacturing process, it is no alien to us that Apple has superbly tuned the chip to offer great levels of performance while sipping battery more efficiently. In fact, the A15 Bionic chip has proven itself to be a better chip than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered phones, the latter having complaints of overheating and throttling — you don’t get than on the iPhone 13.
Hence, for all those concerned with performance, the A15 Bionic chip should be powerful and capable enough to cater to all
