Apple rolled out its latest operating software, the iOS 16, for iPhone and other Apple gadget users around two weeks ago and it has sparked an uproar. One of the most highlighted problems is that the iOS 16 update has negatively impacted their iPhone's battery life. It might not be surprising, as an immediate hit to battery life is expected after installing a new software update for a short while at least. This happens because the latest OS makes some changes in the background such as reindexing files, photos, apps, and more. But once all the background tasks are complete, the issues get resolved.
However, this time it seems different. Even after two weeks of the iOS 16 rollout, users are still complaining about the same. Some of the iPhone users have complained that iOS 16 has completely destroyed the iPhone's battery life, 9to5mac reported. Users have shared their experience on a number of social media platforms, including Reddit, TikTok, and Twitter.
The iPhone users who took to Twitter, said, "iOS 16 is so horrible for battery life…i can't be the only one experiencing this."
"4 out of 4 iPhone users in my house complained about their phone's battery life after updating to iOS 16,” while another user even shared a video to show the iPhone's battery, which says, "Here is a video of my iPhone going from 100% to a little over 50% in one hour after iOS 16 update. Before the update had great battery life. Thanks!”
Still, Apple hasn't yet commented on the issue. However, Apple has recently released iOS 16.0.2 update to the public, after which one user tweeted, "Battery life has marginally improved on 16.0.2. I'm hoping it would get back to the iOS 15 level of management. That was good.”
