iOS 16 release date: It is coming on September 12, but should you download it?
In the midst of the iPhone 14 announcement, Apple has just released the date for the iOS 16 launch. Dubbed as the next big announcement for the iPhone, the iOS 16 update is coming to all the supported iPhones on September 12. Note that this is the stable version of iOS 16 and you won't need to enrol in the beta programme for the same. The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will get iOS 16 preinstalled whereas the iPhone 13 and older models will get it as an update.

The iOS 16 update won't come to the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone SE 1st Gen.
Based on our experience with the beta version of the iOS 16 on the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Mini so far, the answer is a big Yes. iOS 16 has been largely stable and isn't a battery hog like iOS 15.
