JK Simmons offers an update on Invincible season 2. Premiering in March 2021 on Prime Video, Invincible is an adult animated series that’s based on the superhero comic book character created by Kirkman and artist Cory Walker. The series follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun). Although he seems like a normal teenager, Mark has to deal with the fact that his father – Omni-Man (voiced by Simmons) – is the most powerful superhero on the planet. Once he develops powers of his own on his seventeenth birthday and takes on the name Invincible, Mark begins to discover that his father’s legacy is hardly as perfect as it first appears.
Invincible season 1 tees up the second installment in several ways, closing on a montage of all the villains that the heroic high school student has to face. It also leaves Mark’s relationship with Omni-Man in a precarious and even tragic place. Although the show was renewed for two more seasons in April of last year, Simmons reveals that fans will be waiting for a little longer to see it all unfold.
