Alongside developing cutting-edge processor technology, it turns out Intel runs a program dedicated to sending out replacement CPU stickers for our laptops and desktop PCs.
I suspect most people are indifferent to the little sticker advertising which generation of Intel processor is inside their PC, but as Tom's Hardware reports, if you need a replacement, Intel will ship you one out very quickly using FedEx.
The discovery of this sticker replacement program was made by Reddit user Excellent-Ad-7062 after he purchased a used Intel processor. It didn't include the sticker, so he decided to find out if he could get a genuine replacement. Sure enough, there's a page on the Intel website where you can order what's referred to as a "Replacement Intel Inside Logo Label for a Computer, Laptop, or Intel Boxed Processor."
In order to qualify, Intel requires proof of ownership. An invoice, receipt, or packing slip will do, and then it's just a case of filling out the request form with your details and attaching the proof as a file. If you don't have proof, Intel offers a support utility you can download, run, and take a screenshot of the results produced to act as proof.
Excellent-Ad-7062 went through the process and posted proof of his new CPU sticker arriving. Apparently it was delivered very quickly (within three days) using FedEx and included a thank you note from the Intel Inside Program stating, "your support for the consistent and proper use of our brand identity is greatly appreciated."
I am left wondering if there's a person working at Intel dedicated to processing CPU sticker requests, or if it requires a whole team of people.
