A trailer for the new HBO series The Idol shows the first look at the upcoming show from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. Levinson's career has skyrocketed in notoriety ever since the premiere of the thrilling and often heart-breaking series Euphoria. Tesfaye is most known for his musical career as well as his music videos for which he's garnered several nominations and won an MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year for his song «Blinding Lights.»
Now, HBO has released The Idol trailer, which claims to show "the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood." The Idol will mark Tesfaye's television series debut both as an actor and as a writer and co-creator on the series along with Levinson and Reza Fahim. The cast of the series also includes stars such as Lily-Rose Depp and Troye Sivan alongside Tesfaye. A full trailer for The Idol can be viewed below:

Although a story following the partying and tumultuous love lives that often follow stars in the music industry is not new, adding the element of a cult within that world may offer a new spin on a familiar tale. Besides this, Levinson's style of including iconic outfits, striking lighting choices, and some twists and turns, in conjunction with Tesfaye's creative input, makes the show compelling enough to look forward to the premiere. Viewers will have to follow whether more details about The Idol, including a premiere date, will be released in the coming months.
