Word guessing game Wordle has been in the news quite frequently recently. Now, it has grabbed the spotlight again. Reason? Believe it or not, but it just saved a man's life! Who would have thougt it? Can any game, even one as popular as Wordle game save someone life? Well, yes, it can. Wordle, the word guessing game which gives a maximum of six tries to guess a five-letter word has become an addiction for many. Surprisingly, this Wordle addiction actually saved the life of an 80-year old woman from the US. How? Chicago's Denyse Holt was in her bed when a stranger sneaked into the room and kidnapped her for nearly 17 hours. She said in an interview to CBS 2 that the naked stranger kept her hostage in her Lincolnwood home, but the elderly woman remained calm despite the harrowing situation she was in. Fortunately, her family members became concerned about her. Why? Because she had not sent her Wordle scorecard to her family!
What saved her is was her craze for Wordle. The intruder kept her hostage for 17 hours in the basement, prayig that she did not get murdered by this crazed intruder. During this time she played the Wordle game. Later, Holt’s daughter who lives in Seattle noticed that the texts she was sending weren’t being read by her mom and there were no updates on the Wordle game. Holt used to send the daily scorecard of her Wordle game in the morning to her daughter and family. But when she didn't, her daughter knew something was not right. The family then called the police. Needless to say, the intruder was apprehended and Holt was rescued - all because of Wordle!
