The Mangrove Propagule is a Sapling in Minecraft that can be used to grow Mangrove Trees. This tree variant appears in Mangrove Swamps, distinguishable by their large canopies and aerial root systems. Unlike normal Saplings, the Mangrove Propagule is capable of being planted both on land and in water. Regarding land, the propagule can grow on Dirt, Grass Blocks, Coarse Dirt, Podzol, Mycelium, Rooted Dirt, Moss Blocks in Minecraft, Farmland, and Mud. Whenever a Mangrove Propagule matures into a tree atop a Mud Block, it will convert any near Mud into Muddy Mangrove Roots, a Mud variant covered in removable roots.
To get a Mangrove Propagule in Minecraft, adventurers must first locate Mangrove Trees, which primarily spawn in Mangrove Swamps. As a variant of the Swamp biome, Mangrove Swamps typically generate in warmer, temperate regions. As a result, explorers are likely to find these unique swamps bordering biomes such as Jungles and Deserts. However, this does not mean that the swamps cannot generate near other biome types. For example, it is possible to locate the wetlands of Mangrove Trees beside forested areas or normal Swamps in Minecraft.

Minecraft fans can recognize Mangrove Swamps by the biome's unique traits. For example, unlike regular water, the water within Mangrove Swamps appears teal in color instead of grayish or light blue. In addition, the trees that grow within these wetlands also have their own color texture, featuring a shade of green somewhere between yellow and lime green. Finally, the complex root systems are a prominent characteristic of Mangrove Swamps, as the trees' roots are able to grow in the water, on the ground, and even above the earth.
