The Fisherman is a mini-boss in the abandoned fishing village of Driftwater, one of the new explorable zones in Outriders Worldslayer. The plot has players trying to find the increasingly unstable Anomaly and stop Commander Ereshkigal, leader of the Insurgents, from creating a cataclysm on the planet Enoch. The Fisherman is one of several bosses players will have to face in the journey through the Outriders Worldslayer expansion story.
Driftwater is the second main location in the Worldslayer expansion storyline. Players, in communication with Tiago through a headset, are trying to find a boat to cross the waterway and break into the Insurgent Fortress, a prison run by Ereshkigal's insurgents. Tiago tells players a ghost story about the Fisherman, whose daughter was slaughtered alongside the entire village by Insurgent soldiers. To get revenge, he fought back against the Insurgents. The Fisherman died fighting but came back as an angry ghost to kill as many Insurgents as possible; this is the mini-boss players fight in Driftwater.
