According to recent news, upcoming horror title The Callisto Protocol will take somewhere between 12-14 hours to beat. Coming from some of the creators behind the original Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol is another survival horror title where the player is trapped in a claustrophobic environment fighting off strange, zombie-like creatures. While Dead Space and The Callisto Protocol may have similar premises, the two titles differ in plenty of ways. A lot of The Callisto Protocol's mechanics, for example, set it apart from the 2008 horror classic.
Being a game that focused heavily on body horror, Dead Space originally had a lot of gore and violence, but The Callisto Protocol is looking to take that up a notch. The death animations in The Callisto Protocol are brutal enough on their own, but when combined with the violence the player can dish out through the game's melee combat, it's clear that the prison colony of Black Iron is going to be quite the battleground.
The Callisto Protocol Will Support Ray Tracing, Even on Eyeballs
However, another similarity between the original Dead Space and The Callisto Protocol is in how long it takes to beat both games. Revealed in a recent interview by mp1st with Game Director Glen Schofield, The Callisto Protocol will reportedly take around 12-14 hours to beat. Dead Space originally took around 13 hours to complete the main story and some side content. While it isn't clear whether the Dead Space remake will match this, EA Motive has stated it wishes to uphold the legacy of the original game.
While The Callisto Protocol might not be the lengthiest game on the market today, according to Schofield it will have plenty of replay value, especially in the later acts of the game. «Beta paths»
