Horizon Forbidden West recently released to rave reviews, with many hailing it as a fitting follow-up to Horizon Zero Dawn. Those that dedicate enough time to it will get plenty of enjoyment out of exploring Horizon Forbidden West's open world, completing quests, and hunting down all of the game's trophies. Almost every Horizon Forbidden West trophy can be earned in a single playthrough, but there is one missable trophy that has caused players some problems.
Horizon Forbidden West has a missable Silver trophy called All Machine Types Scanned. As the name suggests, Horizon Forbidden West players need to scan every single machine type in the game in order to unlock it. This isn't a problem for the most part, as nearly every machine in Horizon Forbidden West can be encountered multiple times, allowing players to find a new one and scan it if they failed to do so the first time around.

However, there are two exceptions to that rule, which is what makes the All Machine Types Scanned trophy in Horizon Forbidden West missable. Without going into spoilers, the machines Specter and Specter Prime are encountered at the end of the game in the final main story quest, «Singularity.» Horizon Forbidden West players not only have to scan Specter and Specter Prime before defeating them in battle, but they also have to remember to re-scan them if they die because otherwise they lose credit for it.
