Honkai: Star Rail has been almost as successful as publisher HoYoverse's Genshin Impact, but there’s one significant way the two games differ. Unlike Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail only launched on PC and mobile devices, leaving console players out in the cold. As such, many players have been eagerly awaiting a release on PlayStation, but it seems that wait will continue for a while yet.
While many were hoping a PlayStation release would follow closely on the heels of the PC/mobile launch, today during the Summer Game Fest 2023 kickoff show, it was revealed Honkai: Star Rail won’t arrive on PS5 until Q4 of 2023. Furthermore, the PS4 wasn’t mentioned at all, hinting only next-gen console owners will be able to get in on the fun. You can check out the trailer for yourself, below.
The trailer also teases some recently-released and upcoming characters, including Silver Wolf (just released now as part of update 1.1), Yukong (another update 1.1 character), and Luka (coming in update 1.2 or later). Here’s a quick official rundown of the new Honkai: Star Rail 1.1 characters…
Silver Wolf (5-Star)
"The universe is just another game to this super hacker. Silver Wolf is a Quantum character following the Path of Nihility. She has a unique mechanic to add Type Weaknesses on enemies. When Silver Wolf uses her Skill, there is a chance of adding a Type Weakness on an enemy target. The Weakness Type will be the same as the ATK Type of at least one ally currently in the team."
Luocha (5-Star)
