Finding the best gear in can be a bit of a challenge. While it's possible to buy gear and upgrade it in the Room of Requirement, the quality of the gear is really what makes the biggest difference as to how powerful the final item can become. The most common way that gear is found is through opening the chests that are scattered all throughout the various hidden locations in the game.

There are a few different types of chests though, Eyeball Chests, Collectibles Chests, Big Chests, and Small Chests and the loot that is obtained from the majority of them is random. However, with the use of one common feature getting the best gear possible is very easy.

The best way to obtain gear is by looting chests, the items inside the big and small Chests provide gear and consumables while the Eyeball chests provide a large amount of Galleons. Specific Collectibles Chests have items in them that are unique to that specific chest.
