Hogwarts Legacy just got a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, giving us our first good look at the Forbidden Forest. This comes just after the game's delay, with the Harry Potter spin-off now set to launch February 10, 2023.
The new cinematic focussing on the magical offerings outside of Hogwarts itself, giving us a taste of what players will be able to explore when they're not in class.

The trailer began by showing the Forbidden Forest, before showing the first example of moral choices in the game. The player character was given the choice between learning Crucio, or being struck with it. We then get to see them adventuring through some caverns, before being confronted by a Hogwarts professor.
Hogwarts Legacy has been fraught with controversy throughout its development, with the studio having to distance itself from both a former developer, and Harry Potter author JK Rowling herself. As more information on the game is released, Potter fans have debated whether it is ethical to continue to support the franchise in the wake of Rowling's continued transphobia.
And while Rowling's lack of involvement with Hogwarts Legacy has been somewhat of a selling point, it is worth noting that publisher Warner Bros. Games has defended her actions. Speaking about her attacks on the trans community, WB Games president David Haddad said that Rowling has "the right to hold her opinions”. He continued: "I may not agree with her, and I might not agree with her stance on a range of topics, but I can agree that she has the right to hold her opinions."
