The houses of Hogwarts each offer dormitories for their members to live in. Along with shared rooms, each Hogwarts house also has a common room where students can gather, socialize, or study. Each student will enter their house's common room through a secret entrance hidden within Hogwarts, with their rooms further in. In other words, these are very important parts of Hogwarts' student lives, and so are important parts of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy players' experiences, too.

In the Harry Potter novels, readers are given an in-depth description of Gryffindor, since Harry, Hermione, and Ron are all members of the Gryffindor house. There's a brief look at Slytherin's common room in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, a similarly brief description of Ravenclaw's common room in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and nothing in the books for Hufflepuff. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy has the unique opportunity to explore these areas, visualizing key areas of Hogwarts that Harry Potter fans will be able to live in.
