Hideo Kojima is known the world over to be one of the most iconic names in the gaming industry, working on a number of properties over the years, whether it be from Metal Gear Solid to his own original IPs. He and his company Kojima Productions have been busy working on a variety of games and other media projects in the past year, with a project known as Overdose leaking and a collaboration between Kojima and Xbox being announced. Aside from being a game designer, Kojima is also active on social media, sharing his thoughts on various mainstream shows like the Amazon Prime series The Boys.
The Boys originally released in 2019 and has accrued a big following in the years since it premiered. Many critics and fans had praised the series for its commentary on celebrity and commercialization culture, as well as the deluge of Superhero-related media in the past decade. As for Kojima's thoughts on the show, he revealed that it was incredibly similar to a project that he had in mind.

Kojima shared a brief review of the series on Twitter, where he noted that he initially quit the show after watching the first three episodes of season one. He ended up coming back and decided to watch the rest of The Boys. More specifically, he was watching episodes of the series that were put out around the time he was starting on a project that he had wanted to do for a long time, but ended up putting on hold due to the similar premise.
According to Kojima, this would be a buddy type of game with a male/female dynamic, where they would be a part of a special detective squad. This squad would square up against a number of legendary superheroes, and considered Mads Mikkelsen as its lead. The
