Hello Games, the developer behind No Man’s Sky is no stranger to overly ambitious projects in relation to the size of its studio. After developing a trilogy of mobile games named Joe Danger, Hello Games announced in 2013 that it was developing a massively ambitious procedural space exploration game which would become 2016's No Man’s Sky.
Hello Games’ lofty ambitions for No Man’s Sky were sold a little too well to the public however, and the game ended up being placed on a pedicle which the actual product couldn't reach. This led to one of the most tumultuous releases ever, with the backlash ranging from sound arguments over the misrepresentation of products in marketing to death threats sent to Hello Games over butterflies.

It wouldn’t be surprising then, if after a game release like No Man’s Sky, that a studio could have its ambitions tempered for future products. This appears not to be the case at Hello Games however, as the studio's Managing Director Sean Murray spoke to IGN about the new game being developed by Hello Games, and said “it's the kind of project that even if we had a thousand people working on it, it'd still seem impossible.”
Speaking about the team working on the ambitious new project, Sean Murray said “it's a small team, but we like it that way.” Apparently, the new game is being developed in the background by this smaller dedicated team, which could indicate the studio is in no rush to finish the project and will only reveal it to the public when it is ready.
Murray previously stated that Hello Games had learned its lesson from the No Man’s Sky release, and would not be discussing its future games too early before launch. So far, the studio has stayed true
