An addition to the cast for HBO's The Last of Us teases a new form of horror that could enter the show. The apocalyptic drama follows its protagonists Joel Miller and Ellie Williams as they journey across an America that has been ravaged by a fungal infection, turning people into zombie-like terrors. Filming has begun for the series and the show will likely air in 2023 — although no date has been confirmed.
The Last of Us has assembled a promising cast that includes Game of Thrones duo Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the two lead roles. Anna Torv, Nick Offerman, and Merle Dandridge will also feature in the show that has been written by Neil Druckmann, the creator of the games, and Craig Mazin (Chernobyl). The first season will consist of ten episodes and will adapt the events of the first game, The Last of Us.
