One Grand Theft Auto Online player exploring Los Santos has discovered a comical easter egg, calling back to Grand Theft Auto IV and a parody song that was popular during its era. Since its release, GTA V's online sandbox mode has evolved tremendously, receiving major updates and expansions to add new content and features, and to expand the title's longevity. Its newest major expansion, The Contract, features the return of Franklin Clinton, Chop the Dog, and Lamar with the addition of new exclusive music from Dr. Dre, a new radio station, weapons, and quality of life updates, as well as new missions to give insight into the returning characters and the title's lore.
As it stands, Grand Theft Auto IV is the highest-rated game in the series and is considered one of the greatest video games of all time. Despite some of its aspects not aging well, the title is known for taking the Grand Theft Auto franchise's original formula and shifting it to a more realistic and detailed style and tone with a new game engine that introduced numerous never-before-seen mechanics. With the remastered versions of the original GTA trilogy recently releasing, speculation has now shifted toward the fourth title in the series, with a recent leak of a potential Grand Theft Auto IV remaster buzzing around online, hyping up fans who regard it as the series' highlight and deserving of a proper touch-up.
