Polyphony Digital's deployment of Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.11 introduces new race events, increased rewards, and fixes to several known issues. Despite launching last month to rave reviews across the board, Gran Turismo 7 quickly fell out of favor with even the series' most passionate fans. Such a turnaround came on the heels of GT7 receving overpriced microtransactions in a post-launch patch, with $5 cars from Gran Turismo Sport clocking in at around $40 in the new release.
It did not take long for the player-base to fight back, most notably by review bombing the racing title on aggregate site Metacritic. As a result, Gran Turismo 7 became the worst user-rated game in Sony first-party history. Other crafty players created farming scripts that allowed GT7 users to circumvent both the in-game grind and microtransactions to earn credits without actually playing the recently released racer. Developer Polyphony Digital finally responded to the backlash by offering one million free GT7 credits and promising to address as many issues as possible in future updates.

Today, April 7, Polyphony Digital rolled out Gran Turismo 7 Patch 1.11 for PS4 and PS5, which most importantly increases rewards in World Circuit, Lobbies, and Daily Races. Patch notes featured on the official Gran Turismo website add that players should notice reward adjustments to the Arcade and Custom races, as well. The latest update additionally unlocks access to three new World Circuit race events, namely World Touring Car 600 Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise, World Touring Car 700 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit, and World Touring Car 800 Sardegna Road Track A.
