The CW has been going through some stuff recently. But now it looks as though the network is ready to make a few big changes going forward. They've now greenlit a trio of promising new series based on existing franchises, including Gotham Knights. But is it a sign of new things to come? Or just more of the same with a different coat of paint?
After canceling Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman despite exciting cliffhanger endings, it now arguably looks as though The CW was cleaning house to make room for a bit of a shake-up around those parts. The series, which is confusingly not connected to the upcoming game also bearing the name Gotham Knights, just got an official series order in the wake of concerns that it would be dropped along with the other unfortunate shows. This could be good news for those who thought the network's mass-cutting of its series roster might not bode well for DC content.
Gotham Knights: What We Know About The New Series
Gotham Knights joins fellow new shows The Winchesters and Walker: Independence as the newest entries into The CW's robust halls, with the latter 2 serving as prequel series for Supernatural and Walker, respectively. Notably, this season saw far fewer pilots up for grabs at The CW than most years, so these 3 already had pretty good odds at getting series orders. Still, even aside from the numbers, each one hails from some pretty prestigious source material. Plus, according to Deadline, the pilots themselves boasted some pretty solid execution.
Gotham Knights will reportedly center on a number of Bruce Wayne's allies and even enemies, who are forced into an uneasy alliance when they realize they're being blamed for Wayne's death. A number of characters slated to appear in Gotham Knights
