Google Messages is likely to get major upgrades with new features and updates. The tech giant is bringing a completely redesigned Google Messages app along with new features to make it even more useful and exciting. The app will be getting a new icon as well as several other cosmetic and functional improvements. As per reports, Messages developers are testing Signal-like delivery indicators and read receipts in RCS chats. As of now, the app used to show their delivery status with words: Sending, Sent, Delivered, and Read, but with the new update, it will get a Signal-like indicator with check marks inside a circle, as reported by 9to5Google.
Additionally, in RCS chats with groups, Google will replace the indicator to show that the text has been seen or a simple “Read by all” indicator. Moreover, chats with individuals will also show two filled-in circled check marks underneath the read messages, much like WhatsApp's grey and blue check marks.
