The Norse god of thunder, Thor, is confirmed to be in God of War Ragnarök, and it's possible that Kratos' son Atreus will take Mjolnir from him at some point in the game. It may only be a theory for now, but it's an exciting possibility, one that has interesting implications for how Kratos and Atreus' adventures will unfold. God of War Ragnarök is set to release on November 9, so it won't be long before players see how their interactions with Thor pan out.

In God of War 2018, players saw a Kratos far different than the one they were used to. Instead of a bloodthirsty war god bent on revenge, he was a father to a young boy named Atreus, and a widower to his second wife, Laufey. Over the course of the game, Kratos proved himself to be one of the best video game dads, as he does his best to raise Atreus and keep him from making the same mistakes he did. The two journey to spread the ashes of Kratos' late wife and Atreus' mother, but face an immense amount of obstacles in the form of various Norse creatures and gods, as well as Atreus' mysterious illness that doesn't dissipate until he learns of his true nature as a god. Eventually, they make their way to Jotunheim, where it's revealed that Laufey was a giant, and that their entire journey had been foreseen and prophesized in stone murals. God of War: Ragnarök is an upcoming sequel, one that will see the two staring down the titular Nordic apocalypse.
