A recent Genshin Impact leak reveals more information about the long-awaited Dendro catalyst user Yaoyao. Leaks and rumors have become a part of the game's community, and they usually reveal most of the upcoming content months before it officially arrives.
With the recent introduction of the new Sumeru region, players expect more and more Dendro characters to join the playable roster. Yaoyao has been one of the most popular characters in the Genshin Impact community since the game was released back in September 2020.

One of the most credible leakers in the community, SaveYourPrimos, has revealed that Yaoyao will be a part of version 3.4. According to HoYoverse's usual update schedule, update 3.4 should arrive in the first half of February. Yaoyao has been mentioned in numerous rumors and her model was leaked back in the original beta. In fact, out of the eight leaked character models, Yaoyao is the only one that hasn't joined the playable roster yet. One of the main reasons why she was not part of the first couple of Sumeru updates could be the fact that she belongs to the Liyue region.
Her release will most likely be a part of the Lantern Rite festival which is an annual Genshin Impact event that celebrates the Chinese New Year. A number of replies in the comment section claim that they hope developer HoYoverse makes Yaoyao obtainable for free during the event since they always give out at least one four-star character during the Lantern Rite festival. This character has made multiple appearances in Genshin Impact's official artworks which confirms that she will be a playable character in the future.
