Genshin Impact character additions are one of the game's main events and miHoYo has officially confirmed that a brand-new character named Yae Miko will arrive in the upcoming patch 2.5.
Each new Genshin Impact update has its beta phase, which starts once the preceding patch arrives. For example, the 2.5 has officially started the day Genshin Impact update 2.4 joined the live server.

Developer miHoYo has introduced an interesting pattern of revealing new characters weeks before their arrive, most likely because they would get leaked either way once the update's beta arrives. A recent tweet by a credible Genshin Impact leaker named SaveYourPrimos has apparently revealed the upcoming five-star characters that will arrive in the two banner cycles. Apparently, unlike the current update which has brought Shenhe, Zhongli, Xiao, and Ganyu as the limited banner characters, Genshin Impact Version 2.5 will feature only three five-stars: Raiden Shogun, Kokomi, and the previously announced Yae Miko.
Since her appearance in multiple Genshin Impact quests, as well as two update previews, Yae Miko has become a fan-favorite and one of the most awaited characters to join the playable roster. The fact that her ascension stat is Crit rate means that she will most likely be a DPS character in the game which is unusual for a Catalyst user. She is also confirmed to be a new Electro Vision holder. Her elemental skill will allow her to move rapidly, leaving behind "Lethal Sakura" which periodically deals damage to one nearby enemy. This means that she could also have strong sub-DPS capabilities.
