In Pokémon's Generation 7, there are a great many popular and powerful Pokémon, but some of them are probably forgotten by fans for the most part. Species like the powerful Fire starter Incineroar, or the fun regional Alolan variant of Raichu, have become fan favorites, but just like with any Generation of Pokémon, not all of them are going to become instantly popular. Every player has their own preferences, however, and the most forgettable for some may be the best of them all for another.
Gen 7 - Pokémon, Sun and Moon — along with their sequels, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, is set in the Alola region, a chain of islands inspired by real-life Hawaii. In them, players took the Island Challenge, a series of tasks designed to test their strength, instead of a typical Pokémon League. They were the first games to introduce regional variant Pokémon, alternate forms of classic species with new backstories and Types. Aside from these features, Gen 7 games mostly follow the standard Pokémon story; they get their first Pokémon from the regional professor, battle the evil Team, catch the Legendary Pokémon, and become the regional champion.

There are a few reasons why a Pokémon would be forgotten by fans, though as Reddit proves, some remember them better than others. Most of them are species that don't evolve or aren't as powerful as others, sometimes it comes down to their design, and others are a combination of all of these factors. The starters and their evolved forms tend to be highly valued and leave a deep impression no matter what Generation they're in since players typically spend a great deal of their Pokémon Journeys with them.
