Gamescom once again eyes hybrid event for 2022
pcgamesinsider.bizGerman trade show Gamescom is once more planning on holding a hybrid physical and digital event this year.
Organisers Koelnmesse and Game have said that the show will feature both on-site and online aspects when it returns between August 24th and 28th of this year. Gamescom was initially set to follow this model last year and ended up being a digital-only event due to the on-going COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
"We are now finally back again withGamescom – in Cologne and online! And this with a convincing momentum from the games industry," Koelnmesse COO Oliver Frese said.
"This pleases me greatly. Together we have set up a strong concept, in the context of which we of course also ensure the safety and health, as well as the well-being of all those present.“ Frese is equally looking forward to the 'Gamescomgoes green' initiative: "We at Koelnmesse have also long been working on balancing our business activity with societal and environmental needs.
