Two Point Campus is the latest simulation game developed by Two Point Studios, the developer behind hospital management and simulation game Two Point Hospital. The Two Point games let the player become an administrator of a given institution in Two Point County, the fictional setting of the games. Two Point Campus sees the player have to build up the reputation of their college or university, constructing facilities and buildings.
It seemed through the trailers released for Two Point Campus that the game was shaping up to have a similar level of quirkiness as Two Point Hospital, allowing players to create giant pies and burgers, while having their students enroll in Knight School. The announcement of a delay from the game's initially planned release date of May 17 will come as a disappointment to many fans then, as Two Point Studios reveals its plans for Two Point Campus in a new five-minute trailer. Studio directors Mark Webley and Gary Carr take prospective players through the dev team's vision of Two Point Campus.

Something that the developer team talk about working on in great detail is the relationship players will have with the students in Two Point Campus versus that of the patients in Two Point Hospital. In the latter game, a player will only know their patient until they are cured, whereas Carr describes how there's a chance to «really get to know» the students of Two Point Campus, suggesting they could be managed similarly to Sims in the Sims franchise.
