The next update for MultiVersus will address infinite combos, or 0-to-death combos, that have been in the fighting game since launch. MultiVersus has now been available for just short of three months, but developer Player First Games has spent much of its time completely reworking many of the game's systems. The hitbox/hurtbox design of MultiVersus has been redesigned, as an example. And MultiVersus' netcode is being improved going forward. It was just a matter of time before MultiVersus' combo system was also addressed.
Fighting games like MultiVersus and Super Smash Bros. have issues with combos much like any other fighting game. A sequence of attacks can be chained into another sequence of attacks in an unintended way, leading to a juggling scenario where an opponent has no means of recourse. MultiVersus has previously addressed infinite combos back in August, but players have worked around the adjustments to bring them back.

Player First Games is now taking a very serious step to address infinite combos. In a response to a complaint on Twitter, MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh explains that the next update will add a very significant restriction. Performing the same attack in any combo more than 3 times will drop the combo. It should be noted that Huynh initially says «2» attacks per combo but later corrects himself to «3» attacks.
Suffice to say, MultiVersus players who heavily rely on extended combos should still be able to deal a significant amount of damage to their opponents. A Harley Quinn combo, for example, that is able to utilize 3 of each attack before the combo breaks will still manage over 50 damage. That's still significant, but
