In a show of empathy and support for the people of Ukraine, Fortnite developer Epic Games has pledged that all profits from the game from the next two weeks will be donated to humanitarian relief. This is another showing of support from a prominent member of the gaming community for those currently suffering due to the invasion of Ukraine.
Fortnite is one of the biggest battle royale games in the world, attracting millions of players. These players have used Fortnite not only as a source of entertainment but also as a means to do good for the world. Fortnitestreamers hosted charity events, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for noble causes like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These programs and charity streams are not limited to playing Fortnite and Epic Games has provided some support for these endeavors. Now, Epic Games is taking a more direct role in the latest movement for good.

On Twitter, the official Fortnite account announced it would begin support for humanitarian relief for the people of Ukraine by donating all proceeds from the game from March 20 through April 3. On its website, Epic named for charities — Direct Relief, UNICEF, the United Nations World Food Programme, and the UN Refugee Agency — that it would be donating these proceeds to. Any real-money purchases by Fortnite players during this window will count towards this program, like buying skins, gifting Battle Passes, and other cosmetic packs. Epic Games did clarify that the mere spending of Fortnite's currency, V-Bucks, will not contribute to the total; however, the purchase of V-Bucks will count towards the total since those purchases are made with real-world money.
