Fortnite and Marvel are teaming up once again for a new comic book crossover, which hints that Shuri of Black Panther fame could be the next playable Fortnite skin. Epic’s massively successful multiplayer battle royale title has seen several guest appearances from Marvel over the years, dating all the way back to the infamous Avengers baddie Thanos in 2018. Plenty of other comic book heroes, video game characters, and even real-life celebrities have been featured in Fortnite, including those from rival publishing house DC Comics, but Marvel has arguably been represented in Fortnite the most over the years, with the most recent Fortnite/Marvel characters including Spider-Man and his insane arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin.
This connection between Fortnite and comics has gone in the other direction as well, with DC publishing two crossover comics that saw Batman trapped in a deadly game of Fortnite. In addition to allowing fans to see the Dark Knight face off against characters like longtime GI Joe member Snake Eyes and Fortnite’s own The Foundation, these Fortnite/Batman crossover comics led to even more DC characters being brought into Fortnite — such as the dreaded Batman Who Laughs. Now, it seems that Marvel is getting into the four-color Fortnite crossover fun as well, and might even be hinting at a brand-new playable skin along the way.
