While jetpacks were added to Fortnite back in 2018, it was only a temporary inclusion, with the gear occasionally making comebacks the jetpacks were more to traverse the map, albeit in a coolly convenient way, rather than as a Boba Fett-like flying bounty hunter.
But in a new leak for Chapter 3, Season 2 of Fortnite, it seems jetpacks are making a return, and will be tweaked to be more easily controllable (thanks, PCGamesN). These revised jetpacks allow hovering and may mean Fortnite games transform into giant battles between Boba Fetts as players could fly around in a similar way to the Star Wars bounty hunter.

Leaker HYPEX confirmed the jetpack is returning and will be located in the IO blimps adorning parts of the map. There's no official indication of when exactly the new jetpacks will be making an appearance but if it's set to drop in the sandbox mode then it's probably any day now.
In other news, it seems Epic will be keeping the no-building mode as a permanent one or will keep bringing it back as a limited-time mode. Meanwhile, Epic Games' intention to donate 100 percent of Fortnite's proceeds, for a limited time, to Ukrainian relief efforts bore fruit with Epic pledging $36 million off the back of a single day's earnings. Now that's a decent chunk of change and all for a good cause.
