Amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, many of the gaming industry's biggest names have come out to offer assistance to humanitarian efforts in the region. From large companies like Riot Games donating over $5 million to organizations like Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross to individual creators like Asmongold raising close to $400,000 for the Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere, the gaming community has shown its support in force for the ongoing plight of the Ukrainian people. Now, Microsoft and Fortnite recently concluded its Ukrainian charity drive, announcing the final total this morning.
Joining several other major gaming companies to make donations to the relief effort in Ukraine, Fortnite announced plans in mid-March to raise money for the humanitarian organizations dedicated to helping the war-torn region. Epic Games announced that all proceeds from Fortnite for a two-week period from March 20th to April 3rd would be donated to a collection of organizations including UNICEF and Direct Relief with more to be announced later. With the charity drive officially ending as of Sunday, Epic Games announced Monday morning that Fortnite has raised $144 million for humanitarian groups in Ukraine.
