It's possible to grab a free skin in Fortnite in January 2022. Skins have played a massive role in the growth and success of Fortnite. Besides being a popular battle royale, Fortnite has been responsible for some of the biggest crossovers in gaming. What other title allows Kratos of God of War, Master Chief of Halo, and Aloy of Horizon Zero Dawn to appear in a single game? Many of the skins in the game are unlocked by leveling up the Battle Pass or by purchasing them in the Item Shop using V-Bucks. Since this is a premium currency, it isn't always the ideal situation for grabbing skins.
Occasionally, Epic Games will host an event that can give players a chance to get a free skin. For example, the most recent Fortnite Winterfest 2021 event permitted players to get Polar Peely and Krisabelle for free. Although these events are far and few in between, they typically appear exclusively as part of this event with a minimal chance of ever making a return. There's a special feeling towards each skin because they aren't available at all times.

The only free skin available in Fortnite is the Sultura costume with a Cybersaber Pickaxe. To obtain it, players will need to be a member of PlayStation Plus on either PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4. They can then go to the PlayStation Store and download it directly. Since Fortnite has crossplay and cross-progression available, the skin can be used in all versions of the game. It's even possible to rock the PlayStation-themed skin on Xbox or Nintendo platforms.
