Team Of The Year is one of the highlights in the Ultimate Team calendar as one of the most popular promotions that offer the highest-rated versions of the best players in the world. These are alongside the World Cup Icons that were released earlier in the year and the normal Icon cards featuring legends of the game. Fans have had the chance to vote for the 12 best players to be included in the promotion.

World Cup Hero Lionel Messi leads the way after one of the all-time greats finally lifted the ultimate prize in football. The Argentine is rewarded with the joint highest-rated card currently available inwith a staggering 98 rating. Three players sit just behind Messi with 97 overall ratings including PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe who is the best player in the promotion. Despite having the lower rating, the French striker has better in-game stats than Messi and that has seen the value of the card sit at over 10 million coins on the transfer market.

Mbappe's default position is a striker and with the maximum 99 pace stat and 98 dribbling he is hard to stop. However, it is a physical stat of 87 which gives him the advantage over his teammate.
