Crystalline Conflict is the newest PvP mode introduced in Final Fantasy XIV. Similar to activities found in games such as Overwatch, two teams of five versus five are given the objective of pushing a crystal to the enemy team's base. The mode is designed for quick competitive sessions, but match time may vary depending on the skill level of the players involved. While Crystalline Conflict may seem simple at first glance, fans can be easily overwhelmed if they are underprepared.
Patch 6.1 brought multiple changes to the PvP mode in Final Fantasy XIV. The new Series Malmstone system was introduced to give all players that participate in the game mode a chance to earn unique rewards. Fans competing in the Crystalline Conflict can earn 900 Series exp for winning and 700 Series exp for losing a match. Adventurers also receive 500 of both PvP exp and Wolf Marks on victories while only obtaining half upon defeat. In Crystalline Conflict, players are given the option of joining Casual or Ranked matches. The latter is broken up into six ranks, starting from Bronze and climbing to Crystal. While fans may be eager to jump straight into the new PvP mode, there are some helpful preparations that can still be conducted.
