Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy XVI, has revealed that the game is almost complete and that a new trailer will be released soon. If correct, then the next trailer will be the first major update for the gamesince it was announced, as FF16 news in 2021 was delayed to 2022, with no date given for when the next big news update will be confirmed.
FF16 was first announced during the PS5 showcase event in 2020 as a PS5 console exclusive. Since then, updates regarding the game have been few and far between, which was partly blamed on the global pandemic slowing the game's production. FF16's release window has been in question for a while now, especially as Square Enix isn't afraid to announce games way before they are ready to launch, as was the case with the five-year wait for FF7 Remake, and what will likely be the case for Kingdom Hearts 4 in the future.
