As the director’s love letter to Hollywood and the movies, it’s not surprising that Quentin Tarantino has continued on with projects related to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Following the 2019 film’s nomination for Best Picture at the Oscars, Quentin Tarantino announced that he would be writing a novelization of the film, which would dig deeper into the motivations of Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), while also filling in the gaps for several of the characters’ backstories. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s novelization quickly hit the best-sellers list upon its debut, with no end in sight for Tarantino’s spinoff ventures on the film.
While the novelization of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has led to speculation about the director’s other iconic films like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, or Reservoir Dogs getting a novel treatment, it seems Tarantino’s time is fairly preoccupied with the world of Rick and Cliff’s story. Following the novel, Tarantino has already revealed that he has intentions to make at least five projects related to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It’s unclear whether all of these projects will come to fruition, but a few already have the ball rolling for the near future.

Although audiences are generally more concerned with the prospects of his next new film, which would be Tarantino’s self-professed 10th and last movie, his creative eye is still set on an expansion of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s lore.
