The reboot of the iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger film Eraser: Reborn has released its first trailer. The original 1996 action thriller starred Schwarzenegger as John Kruger, a U.S Marshall whose specialty is «erasing» high profile witnesses by faking their deaths and getting them out of harm's way. The original, directed by Chuck Russell (who also directed The Mask), was a commercial success but was panned by critics at the time.
The Warner Bros YouTube channel released the official trailer for Eraser: Reborn, and it definitely doesn't have Schwarzenegger in it. However, this new film seems to be following the original storyline beat for beat. The 90-second teaser hit all the notes of the classic Schwarzenegger film, including epic shootouts, massive chase scenes, and fistfights in some very scenic locations. Just no Arnold.

The trailer also reveals the first look at newcomers to the series, namely U.S Marshal Mason Pollard, played by Dominic Sherwood (Shadowhunters), Jacky Lai (V-Wars) as Rina Kimura, McKinley Belcher III (Marriage Story) as Paul Whitlock, and Eddie Ramos (Animal Kingdom) as Sugar Jax, a local gangster.
So far, not much else is known about the project other than its director, John Pogue (The Quiet Ones, Deep Blue Sea 3), and its writer, Michael Weiss (Jarhead3: The Siege). Patty Reed (Pure Country Pure Heart) is also set to produce for Roserock Films Eraser: Reborn comes to Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD on June 7, 2022, and will be available for streaming on HBO Max in Fall 2022.
