Less than 24 hours after its release, Elden Ring has been spotted breaking several records, including toppling the peak Twitch viewership of FromSoftware games and becoming the third-best Twitch debut of all time. FromSoftware's much-anticipated role-playing game Elden Ring launched yesterday after gathering and building nonstop speculation and hype from excited fans for years. While reviews have celebrated it upon its launch, the title has caught some criticism due to technical issues that have yet to be addressed by its developers.
Elden Ring is an open-world, third-person action RPG, developed by the studio behind the popular Dark Souls franchise, FromSoftware, in collaboration with George R.R. Martin, author of epic fantasy novels and the award-winning Game of Thrones. Set in the realm of the Lands Between, Elden Ring features a much different structure compared to its predecessors and gives players the chance to plot out their own adventure across an open world. The title, however, keeps to FromSoftware's Soulsborne tradition, with gameplay continuing to focus on combat and exploration.

FromSoftware continues to topple records, as new analytics in a press release by Gamesight has revealed that Elden Ring is the third most-viewed game on Twitch in recent history. Receiving almost 900,000 views upon release, the title falls a bit short of the popular releases of Lost Ark and Cyberpunk 2077 but completely dominates every new release in the past few years on the platform, including all previous titles from the developer.
