In FromSoftware's difficult action-RPGs, players commonly have two choices when it comes to bosses: practice tirelessly to telegraph move-sets and best them after an arduous period of time, or find some eclectic way to tip the battle's scales in their favor and win by unintended means. Elden Ring players have been busy with both options and have since shared their storied anecdotes.
Elden Ring's bosses are abundant and particularly fearsome if players find themselves in a locale that they are considerably under-leveled in. Fortunately, players can access almost any area at any time if they wish, and previous areas can be returned to when players have leveled up and retrieved new armaments to make boss battles more evenly favored. Elden Ring Leak May Reveal Feature That Was Cut from the Game
Redditor u/H3NRY-56 shares an absurd method of defeating Castle Sol's Commander Niall. H3NRY-56 depicts «the ultimate cheese» as they repeatedly and precisely fire arrows into a tiny hole in one of the castle's brick walls. It is learned that Elden Ring's Commander Niall stands and waits patiently beyond this hole before players even arrive to his boss arena. Because Commander Niall waits there, H3NRY-56 is able to take advantage and patiently vanquish him from afar.
Commander Niall is the second of two similar bosses players may optionally face in Elden Ring, with the first being Commander O'Neil in eastern Caelid's Aeonia Swamp. Commanders O'Neil and Niall both summon foes to help them at different points of their boss battles, and utilize AoE attacks that strike with different affinities.
