Elden Ring players are constantly discovering new ways to cheese bosses, including the last boss of the game, the Elden Beast. There are several ways players can set up their character to cheese the Elden Beast, most of which are best suited to intelligence-based builds. However, there are also a couple of ways players can cheese the boss using melee weapons. Staying calm and close to the Elden Beast will grant players chances to do damage, no matter which builds they are using.
Cheesing the boss fight requires a Mimic Tear, in fact, the only spirit ash Elden Ring players really need during boss fights is Mimic Tear. During the Elden Beast boss fight, Mimic Tear will repeatedly draw aggro off of the player. This gives players an opportunity to outmaneuver the Elden Beast to attack it from certain angles. Since the boss is wide and tall, hitting it with wide, high-damage attacks will defeat it even if the attacks are slowly performed.

The vast majority of the Elden Beast’s damage is holy damage; thus, players can outfit their character with equipment that provides holy damage resistances for greater chances of survival. As for tactics, each cheesing method used to take down the Elden Beast requires players to constantly manage distance while using Ash Summons like Mimic Tear. Players using ranged or melee builds can stay behind the Elden Beast, attacking its back legs and rear. In the current update of Elden Ring, when players do not make sudden, broad movements while attacking Elden Beast from its rear, there is a chance the boss will get confused and stand still.
