Albion Online opens Early Access for the new Albion East server today for those with Founder’s Packs, ahead of Monday’s full launch.
The three-week closed beta came to an end, with a truncated season included. The Early Access entry date will vary based on the level of Founder’s Pack you bought. Today, Crystal and Gold get access, with Silver on Friday, and the Bronze level will get in on Sunday. The server officially opens up on Monday, March 20th.
There’s a new Albion East teaser that shows all of these Early Access dates against a backdrop of the action to come on the shiny new server. Albion Online ’s existing server will now be known as Albion West, but everyone with an account can choose to play on either server when both are fully open. Content on each server will be the same.
If you’re already at home on Albion West, and can deal with the event scheduling and connections, you can stay there. The Sandbox Interactive team is emphasizing that people don’t need to change over, and some may be concerned about the impact of moving to East, but opening up this new server means that event scheduling could be done locally, and of course, servers be closer for better connections.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a fresh new server home, you could start playing on Albion West and work with the server’s scheduling. It may take a little time to see how things balance out in terms of population and, importantly, competition and demand.
