DualSense Edge Launching January 26 For A Staggering $199.99
thegamer.comThe PlayStation 5 is getting a brand-new controller complete with replaceable stick modules, a lockable braided USB cable, and audio adjusters, but it'll cost you $199.99, half that of the PS5 Digital itself.
It's touted as the "first-ever ultra-customizable controller developed by PlayStation", launching on January 26, 2023, though pre-orders go live on October 25. It's nearly $200 in the US, which translates to £209.99 in the UK. Replaceable stick modules are also sold separately, so it'll cost a bit more if you want to get some backups.

The controller comes with a carrying case, connector housing, two lever back buttons, two half dome back buttons, two low dome caps, two high dome caps, and two standard caps, as well as the afformentioned braided USB cable. Pre-orders go live later this month for the US, UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
You can swap out the back buttons and remap them to other controls such as X and L2, and there's adjustable trigger stops and dead zones next to the triggers. You can also tune stick sensitivity and dead zones to your liking, while the usual haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support is present much as with the standard DualSense.
There's still that mouth-watering price tag of nearly $200. For comparison, the PS5 Digital is $400, while the standard console is $500. So you can only get around two controllers for the price of the platform itself. The standard DualSense retails at $69.99 or £59.99, meaning the Edge is nearly three times the price.
