Dragon Age is Getting a Netflix Show This Year
BioWare fans recently learned that the official title of DA4 is Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, but that came with the reveal that it would still be some time before fans learn more. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next title, but many want BioWare to take all the time it needs to get it just right. Following Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition sets high expectations.
However, it doesn’t seem the upcoming title is the only Dragon Age content fans can expect. BioWare and Netflix have announced that a new animated show calledDragon Age: Absolution releases this year. A few details were confirmed alongside the trailer, but many fans are also breaking down how it approaches the lore.
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Title is an Anagram With Big Implications
Dragon Age: Absolution takes place in Tevinter, like Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. However, it’s uncertain when it takes place. Some believe because of the art style that it may be an older version of Tevinter, or at least somewhat removed from the upcoming games. At the same time, it has to be post-Dragon Age: Inquisition or around that same time, as there are Red Templars involved.
The main character is an Elf with facial tattoos—though these tattoos seem more akin to a City Elf than the Vallaslin of the Dalish. The show is said to focus on new characters and Dragon Age lore related to elves, mages, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, Demons, and so on. Interestingly enough, it even seems there is a female Qunari in the Dragon Age show.
Others have noted how a six-eyed character is likely an abomination or demon, how the purple magic implies some level of necromancy, and what could be potential encounters with the primary antagonist (which could be a necromancer). Dragon Age:
