Pudge is one of Dota 2's classic heroes, and his item build has also remained just as classic for quite some time. Before the introduction of Aghanim's Shard upgrades, Pudge's item build was pretty simple: get simple support and survivability items and use those to try and land hooks. However, the Aghanim's Shard upgrade for Dismember and 7.31's item changes have breathed new life into the hero.

Pudge's skill build in Dota 2 also recently underwent some changes, which is accounted for with the new item build.
Like all things in Dota 2, updates, meta developments, and situations can call for a unique item build.
Pudge's support items aim to aid his early mana pool and ganking capabilities while pivoting heavily into survivability as the game goes on. Raindrops and Soul Ring ensure that Pudge has enough mana to constantly roam the map, looking for enemy heroes or jungle camps to gank. Tranquil
